Apache Storm framework review

Interesting review by Hortonworks’ Steve Nunez via LinkedIn Pulse titled Storm’s real-time processing comes at a price. Steve concludes: “Options are few in the world of real-time message processing frameworks at massive scale, and Storm is the only one battle tested by the largest organizations in the world. Despite its current shortcomings, if you really have a “big streaming” problem, Storm appears to be the best choice.”

Naturally, “big streaming” does not automatically mean “large amounts of analysis per event”. And not too many business CEP problems need yet to worry about Millions Events per Sec. But the promotion of these open source frameworks will no doubt lead to some interesting application experiments in future.
