Oracle Complex Event Processing
Today’s IT environments generate continuous streams of data from systems for everything from financial markets, government border security, transportation management to network performance, business process execution and tracking RFID tagged assets. The challenge now is to maximize the value of this ever growing data flow across an entire organization. The Oracle Complex Event Processing product (formally known as the WebLogic Event Server) is the first and only Java server for the development of high-performance event driven applications. It is a lightweight Java application container built from the ground up, based on Equinox OSGi, with shared services, including a powerful complex event processing service, which provides a rich, declarative environment to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of managing business operations.
CEP detects patterns in the flow of events, often based on filtering, correlation, and aggregation across event sources and includes industry leading temporal and ordering capabilities. It supports ultra-high throughput (1 million/sec++) and microsecond latency, to date unforeseen with standard Java (reference JRockit Real Time). Oracle CEP provides a complete, end-to-end, java platform for event-driven applications, including an integrated Oracle BAM product that provides powerful real-time visualization, monitoring, and alerting to business users as well as an integrated development and administrative visualization tool through the Oracle CEP Visualizer.
